Date added: 08/08/2010 Casting Crowns concert - Beaumont, Tx

Let me just start by saying I know a lot of you Christians out there know who Casting Crowns is. You probably even have several of their cds and have been to one of their concerts.

Well if you have not been to one of their concerts, I would seriously advise you to find one near you.

My family and I went to see Casting Crowns play at the Montagne Center in Beaumont, Texas tonight (August 7, 2010). It was, by far the best concert I have ever seen, hands down. The thing is, with Casting Crowns, it's not all about putting on the best show and bringing down the house with their music. They are simply about ministering for Christ in all that they do. Their concerts are a great sermon mixed with awesome music and lots of prayer.

Lead singer Mark Hall was so right when he kept on hammering the point that we are all 'dorks'. In other words, everything is about God. We are just people. Without him, we are nothing. But with him, we have the power to share the most powerful story ever. We were put on this earth to be disciples. As Christians, we should be ministering daily and always striving to conform to Christ's image.

For those that don't know this, each member of Casting Crowns is involved in their own church ministry in some way. Some are Pastors, others are teachers. These guys left this concert tonight and each hopped in their own vehicle and took off for the airport to catch a plane home, so they can make it to the Sunday morning service in their hometown.

Just before intermission, these guys played a video about World Vision. World Vision is a Christian Humanitarian organization that works with children and families all over the world to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. With World Vision, if you sponsor a child, you are sponsoring one child with a name. You can adopt a beautiful boy or girl who was not blessed to be born in a Christian home, or in a household where everything is provided.

My wife, family and I adopted a little girl tonight from Chile. My daughter actually picked out the card, because the girl's name was close to my daughter's.

Thank you Casting Crowns for what you are doing for World Vision, and I look forward to sharing our experiences with the child we adopted, for years to come.

And thank you Heavenly Father for sending Casting Crowns out to minister to me and others all over the world with such spirit-filled, blessed music.
